Holocene is inspired by Bon Iver’s song of the same name and the writings from Joan Didions ‘The White Album’. It is about how everything in our life, this world, and this universe as we know it, is made up of individual components and building blocks, where if isolated may be irrelevant, however when united together make something whole and of significance. 

During this project I also explored what inspires me on a personal level and what I would like to explore in my art. Holocene also reflects my own inspirations such as nature, music, architecture & human psychology, and all the intricate elements that come with it. 

Holocene explores the beauty, significance and insignificance of humanity in the grand scheme of things.
